The Directors of the Fund, all of whom are non-executive, are responsible for supervising the Investment Manager and for the overall investment activities of the Fund. They are:
Michael Cassidy, CBE, Non-Executive Chairman
Michael Cassidy is a non-executive director of UBS Ltd and was a non-executive director of The British Land Company plc from 1996 to 2007. He has practiced law in the City of London for 35 years, currently as a consultant with DLA Piper, and has been involved mainly in institutional investment in commercial property both in the UK and overseas. He was formerly Chairman of the Policy & Resources Committee of the Corporation of London and in that capacity visited Bombay in 1995 to help local business leaders establish Bombay First, a lobby group focused on developing that City’s capabilities as a regional financial centre. Mr. Cassidy was until recently President of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Paul Orchard-Lisle, CBE, Non-Executive Director
Paul Orchard-Lisle is currently Chairman of The Falcon Property Trust, a commercial property unit trust. He was Chairman of property investment and development company Slough Estates plc (2005-06) and is a director of Standard Life Property Income Trust. He is also investment adviser to Patron Capital. He was senior partner of commercial property adviser Healey and Baker (renamed Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker in 2006) for 11 years to 1999 and was previously Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield Asia. Mr. Orchard-Lisle also holds numerous charitable and other appointments, and is a past President of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
William (Bill) Hamilton-Turner, Non-Executive Director
Bill Hamilton-Turner is resident in the Isle of Man. He is a non-executive director of AIM-quoted property fund Dawnay, Day Carpathian, and the commercial property division of Antler Property Group that has interests in commercial and residential property in the UK. He is also a non-executive director of Hansa Fund PCC Limited, an investment fund licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, Devonshire Corporate Services Limited, licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission as a Corporate and Trust Service Provider, and chairman of Active Services (IOM) Limited. Previously, Mr. Hamilton-Turner was chairman of Insinger de Beaufort (International) Limited, Isle of Man office (formerly Jardine Matheson International), deputy chairman of Rea Brothers (Isle of Man) Limited, and a non-executive director of AngloGold Ashanti Holdings PLC. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Chartered Director.
Philip Scales , Non-Executive Director
Philip Scales is Managing Director of IOMA Fund and Investment Management Limited and a former Managing Director of Northern Trust International Fund Administration Services (Isle of Man) Limited. Prior to this, Mr. Scales was employed by an English merchant bank and has over 30 years’ of experience working in offshore corporate and mutual fund administration. Mr. Scales is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Rak Chugh , Non-Executive Director
Rak Chugh is the co-founder and Managing Director of Trikona Capital, the leading institutional investment vehicle for real estate and related infrastructure projects in India. Trikona Capital has invested over $450 million and committed more than $1 billion in strategic deals with partners and developers in India. Trikona’s diversified portfolio of investments spans the residential, commercial, hospitality and hospital sectors. At Trikona, Rak leads project structuring and funding. Prior to founding Trikona, Rak was head of a fixed-income structuring group at Lehman, New York, where his team led the firm’s efforts in structuring and pricing asset-backed securities, the majority of which were in real estate financings. Before Lehman, he was at Prudential Securities, New York, where he led the product development and analytics group responsible for primary-market, fixed-income needs with a focus on real estate capital markets.
Rak graduated from Middlebury College, USA with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a concentration in Intensive Physics.
